Take Control of Welding Power Sources

The PurgeNet™ Machine Interface Lead is designed for communicating the current oxygen readings from your PurgEye® Weld Purge Monitor® to another piece of equipment, such as a Welding Power Source. This integration allows for automated control, ensuring consistent weld quality, especially for critical welds.
Key Features and Benefits
  • Automated Welding Control: All HFT® PurgEye® Weld Purge Monitors® reading down to 10 ppm (excluding the PurgEye® Nano) can control the start/stop function on a Welding Power Source using the PurgeNet™ Machine Interface Lead.
  • Consistent Quality: Essential for critical welds, ensuring that the welding power source automatically pauses the process if oxygen levels fall below the set threshold, preventing weld oxidation.
  • Direct Connection: The lead connects directly to the port on the Weld Purge Monitor® and includes connections for optional accessories like the PurgeAlarm™ Visual Alarm Indicator™.
  • Industry Standard Communication: Oxygen readings are communicated through the industry standard 4020A current loop and relay signals.
  • Versatile Power Supply: The interface includes a power supply to charge/power your PurgEye® from a standard 12-24V supply found in most industrial machines.
Technical Specifications
Output and Status Indicators:
Linear Current Output: For PurgEye® Weld Purge Monitors® with a 10 to 1000 ppm range, the current output from the interface is linear, with 4mA representing 0 ppm and 20mA representing 1,000 ppm, with a resolution better than 1 ppm.
Dual Range for PurgEye® 600 Touch:
0 – 1,000 ppm: 4mA - 12mA
1,000 – 250,000 ppm: 12mA - 20mA
Status Light Indicators:
Slow Flash: Correctly powered and receiving valid data from PurgEye®.
On: Correctly powered but no data received from PurgEye®.
Off: Not powered, ensure correct current loop and supply connections.
Connections:
Basic Connections:
LIN (PurgeNet™ Data)
NEG (PurgeNet™ Ground)
POS (PurgeNet™ Supply)
IN (Status)
0 VDC
+12 - 24 VDC
Voltage Output: Connect using 4-20mA output with 100-ohm resistor.
Auxiliary Items:
PurgeNet™ Smart Cable: For charging with multi-plug options.
PurgeAlarm™ Traffic Light Visual Warning Accessory: Provides visual indication of alarm status.
PurgeLog™ Data Logging Software: For quality control documentation.
Your Questions Answered
PurgeNet™ Machine Interface communicates the current oxygen readings from your PurgEye® Weld Purge Monitor® to another piece of equipment, such as a Welding Power Source.
The PurgeNet™ Machine Interface is compatible with the PurgEye® 200, PurgEye® 500 Desk, PurgEye® 600, PurgEye® 1000 Remote, and PurgEye® 1500 Site.
The PurgeNet™ Machine Interface is a lead connecting to the Weld Purge Monitor® port. It also facilitates charging and the use of other PurgeNet™ accessories.
Oxygen readings are communicated through industry-standard 4020A current loop and relay signals. If the oxygen content falls below the set PPM level, the welding power source automatically switches off, pausing the welding process until the PPM level rises again.
The PurgeNet™ Machine Interface Lead ensures you maintain full control over your welding processes, enhancing quality and reliability for critical applications.
