Your Questions Answered
The PurgEye® 500 Desk is for in-house/in-factory use for weld purging of welding chambers and enclosures and tube and pipe welding production. It is ideal for applications requiring highly accurate oxygen readings from 1,000 ppm down to 10 ppm, such as welds in titanium, duplex, nickel alloys, and high-spec stainless steels.
The PurgEye® 500 Desk measures down to 1 ppm and is highly accurate down to 10 ppm.
The PurgEye® 500 Desk uses a unique solid-state, long-life sensor that offers faster response times and greater stability in readings.
HFT® has several repair and recalibration facilities worldwide. Contact us, and we’ll refer you to the closest centre.
The PurgEye® 500 Desk has a 1-meter green inlet tube with a replaceable filter.
Each instrument has shielding to prevent most forms of interference. Quality control tests and inspection criteria are designed to account for as many variables as possible, making electrical interference extremely rare.
The Argweld® Weld Purge Monitors® should not be exposed to gas at temperatures above 50ºC (122ºF). Contact us for information on exhaust purge gas cooling methods.
The integral pump extracts the exhausting weld purge gas precisely and draws it across the sensor when there is insufficient flow, ensuring accurate readings.
The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display provides brighter, clearer, and sharper readings for viewing at greater distances and wider angles. OLED displays are mainly symbol-based, making menus easily understandable regardless of language.

The PurgEye® monitors measure oxygen levels within any gas, not just inert gases. They can be used with argon, helium, nitrogen, and nitrogen/hydrogen mixes.

PurgeNet™ allows a series of accessories to be added to the PurgEye® 500 Desk, enabling control of automatic welding systems based on oxygen levels. It also works with PurgeLog™ Software for data transfer and quality control.
