Your Questions Answered
This instrument measures oxygen levels to 100 parts per million (ppm) when welding stainless steel and other reactive metals to prevent oxidation and discolouration. For accurate measurements below this, other PurgEye® monitors are available to measure accurately down to 10 ppm.
Weld Purge Monitors® manufactured and designed by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® have become the world’s standard for measuring purge gas quality in TIG/GTAW and Plasma/PAW welding of tubes, pipes, tanks, and other enclosed structures.

The PurgEye® 100 IP65 detects oxygen levels down to 100 ppm and offers assurance that no leaks or outgassing cause oxygen to remain near a weld.
Materials like stainless steel and reactive alloys can oxidize and discolour when welded with oxygen.
The PurgEye® 100 IP65 will measure oxygen levels progressively as they are reduced by weld purging techniques so that welding can commence once the risk of oxidation and discolouration has been minimised.
A specialised and innovative solid-state, self-calibrating design.
HFT® manufactures a range of Weld Purge Monitors® that can measure oxygen levels down to 10 ppm.
The new PurgEye® 100 IP65 monitor has an auto push-button facility that calibrates the sensor at atmospheric and minimum oxygen levels.

This feature allows the sensor to be highly accurately calibrated for each reading throughout its life. If formal certification is required, HFT® has calibration centres worldwide.

Please contact us or your local HFT® distributor for the fastest and most economical method of obtaining a new certificate.
The Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 Weld Purge Monitor® should not be exposed to gas at a temperature above 50ºC (122ºF).
The PurgEye® monitors can measure the oxygen level, not only inert gases, within any gas. They can monitor the oxygen level when using inert gases such as argon and helium and other welding gases such as nitrogen and nitrogen/hydrogen mixes.
The Push Button Auto Calibration feature on the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 allows users to easily calibrate the monitor at atmospheric levels and the lowest oxygen readings, ensuring increased accuracy and reliability during use.

The PurgEye® 100 IP65 is supplied with:

  • 2 x AA batteries
  • Leak-tight stainless-steel probe for sampling
  • 2 meters of gas sampling hose
  • Sampling bulb (vacuum pump)
  • Carry strap for neck or wrist
  • User instruction booklet
  • Storage and presentation case
  • Calibration certificate for Quality Control Procedures and Management Systems
The IP65 rating signifies that the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 is fully dust-tight and protected against water from a nozzle, ensuring the monitor can withstand harsh environments and maintain accurate readings.

If you have any additional questions or would like to learn more about how the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 can benefit your business, please contact us or your local HFT® distributor.
