The cleaning of titanium, nickel alloy and stainless steel components

Screen Shot 2014-01-09 at 14.07.11 The cleaning of  titanium, nickel alloy and stainless steel components to be welded by the TIG (GTAW) process is of significant interest.

A very interesting article, that can be read in the link below, discusses an automatic cleaning machine and cleaning process for components that are to be welded by the electron beam process.

Whether the welding process is EB, Plasma or Tig, the same cleaning criteria exist for the production of welds of the highest quality.

The machine cleans components with jets of high pressure hot water and detergent.  After a demineralised water rinse, the machine dries the components ready for the next task.

The  chamber of the turbex machine is 1.4 meter x 1.4 meter x 1.4 meter which makes it suitable for lots of small parts or some really large ones and the cycle time for washing is around 44 minutes.

This machine might lend itself in particular to those people orbitally welding tube components and assemblies for the industries with particularly stringent quality control procedures to follow.
