Pipe stopping and blocking where there are chemicals or high temperatures present can cause many challenges in a variety of industries including Plumbing, Oil and Gas and Petrochemical. Furthermore, if those pipes have some small ovality problems it presents additional difficulties in order to achieve a good sealing.
Peripheral Sealing Plugs for heavy-duty applications such as immersion in chemicals and / or exposure to high temperatures are now available from HFT®, which has a division solely focussing on pipe blocking, stopping and sealing know as Pipestoppers®.
The Pipestoppers® Heavy-Duty Sealing Plugs are manufactured to suit pipe ends or orifices having a 17” (432 mm) diameter, extending to 96” (2,400mm). The plugs are specifically designed for heavier duty applications such as long immersion in water, for use at higher temperatures or for contact with acidic or alkaline environments for which other pipe plugs and stoppers are not suitable.
The heavy-duty pipe plugs in this range can also be doubled up to make them seal better, provide more stability inside the pipe and be able to hold back more pressure than the single versions.
Pipestoppers® heavy-duty plugs have a number of tightening points around their circumference so that the seal can be improved locally in case of ovality in particular.
The heavy-duty plugs feature a 2” (50 mm) centre stem threaded to accept a 2” BSP screw cap when not in use for draining, pressure testing or purging etc.
