Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® has recently received an order from AMEC in Aberdeen, through our Exclusive Distributor Steveweld, for the GDF Cygnus project.
The order comprised of 1 – 16” PurgElite® Inflatable Tube and Pipe Purging Systems, all complete with PurgeGate® valves to prevent any bursts due to accidental increase of pressure, PurgEye®200 Weld Purge Monitors®, Argweld® Weld Backing Tape™ and Argon Feed Hose.
In 2013 AMEC, the international engineering and project management company was awarded the hook up and commissioning (HUC) support contract for GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd’s Cygnus gas field development, the UK Southern North Sea’s largest gas discovery in the last 25 years.
This is the latest phase of the project, which is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015, will be delivered by AMEC’s Aberdeen offshore North Sea team. The work will be part of a series of major platform installations, including the full spectrum of commissioning and completions support.
The Cygnus gas production is due to meet the demand for nearly one and half million UK homes at peak production, accounting for around five per cent of the UK’s gas production by 2016.
