A technical paper published in the April edition of the American “Welding Journal”, will be quite interesting to many of our readers and Group members.
The Paper discusses the effects of weld purging on metallurgical conditions of TIG (GTA) welded 304H when using purging gases of Argon, Nitrogen, Nitrogen/Hydrogen and Argon/Nitrogen compared with no purging.
Some of the metallurgical conditions evaluated were Hardness Properties, Intergranular Corrosion Properties, Pitting Corrosion Properties and in conjunction the Transverse Tensile Test Results, the Bend Test Results and Impact Toughness Results.
