With a host of players unavailable and the league championship already secured you could have forgiven Burry Port for just turning up and going through the motions. Betws were hoping for just that and with a couple of permits within their ranks sniffed an upset against the Champions.
But any thoughts they had of an upset were quickly put to bed as Burry Port raced out of the blocks looking sharp and hungry in defence and attack. The home team just couldnt cope with the Blacks pace and power and with the way Burry Port were spreading the ball the heavier Betws pack could see they were in for a long days work.
The Blacks ran in 8 tries with hooker Roberts 2 Fullback Davies 2 scrum half Phillips 1 replacements Powell and Parker 1 a piece and 1 from Luke Rudall who played out of position on the openside and put a performance that any seasoned 7 would be proud of.
Betws scored a couple of nice tries themselves and had some powerful runners in the backrow and tried playing right to end but they they were happy to here the final whistle.
The day belonged to the Champions and it was nice to see them playing with smiles on their faces and bringing the league campaign to an end.
