Last week our CEO Georgia Gascoyne visited our Exclusive Distributor in India, Weldwell Speciality.
The first part of the visit took place in the south where Georgia and Weldwell visited several customers, delivering product demonstrations and a lecture on weld purging at The Institute of Engineering in Madras (Chennai) to 34 attendees.
During the second part of the visit Georgia was at Weldwell's Head Office in Mumbai and spent time with the eight sales personnel there, product training and visiting customers together.
The highlight of the trip was an evening lecture at The Welding Institute of Bombay, where roughly 50 delegates attended. Georgia's lecture explained the reasons why we purge, what metals require purging and how to do it effectively in order to produce bright, shiny, oxide free, zero colour welds.
Both sessions interacted with the audience and the attendees were able to get 'hands-on' with the products, followed by lively question and answer sessions.
The Welding Institute Mumbai branch is particularly pro-active and has an ever-increasing membership. They have some exciting forthcoming events including Best Welder and Best Engineer competition, plus the Weld India Expo taking place on 10th and 11th December and the National Welding Seminar talking place on 9th to 11th December.
